Publishers & Wholesalers of Contemporary Western & Americana Art
3M Collection of Contemporary Western and Americana Art
The 3M Company, through its Direct Response Division, established itself as a major publisher of limited edition, fine art prints by introducing the 3M Collection of Contemporary Western Art. Shortly after developing the program, the Old Utica Company acquired the Collection from 3M.

The art, entitled "The Collector's Collection" consists of 49 limited edition, signed and numbered prints by 27 of the most celebrated artists of our time. Their work is a diverse collection of Western, Southwestern, Landscape and Wildlife art.

Each piece was produced with the same rigid standards of quality and integrity that we have come to know and expect from all of 3M's products. The brilliant tones are a result of each print having at least seven color separations, with some having as many as 13 color separations. Very unique graphic color printing consisted of a combination of four-color process printing and individual true colors to meet the rigid artist color specifications.

This "Wet on Dry Process" was used because of its ability to achieve brilliant color and dimension with almost original appearance and relief. Offering a superior quality print compared to the traditional four-color printing process. Duane Bryers, artist, says of this collection: "The colors and definition of this art are indistinguishable from the original painting."

The paper used in producing the prints was manufactured specially for 3M for this art. Each sheet is 17-pt. semi-gloss/matte finish stock that is 100 percent rag and is pH neutral, acid-free archival quality paper.

The superb quality of the prints and their value as an investment in art are further enhanced by their low edition numbers. Half of the prints in this collection were produced in editions of 250. The other half were produced the following year in editions of 450.
